Check-in is the fastest way to record that an itinerary item happened. Tap the map-pin icon next to an item and TourRelay stamps the actual time for you — no forms, no typing. Every check-in feeds the trip's Tour rating after the trip ends.
Check-in captures two timestamps:
- Actual time — when the item happened. Editable afterwards, so you can fix a forgotten check-in.
- Capture time — when you tapped the button. Immutable. Preserved even after you edit the actual time, as a record of the original tap.
How to check in
Open the trip
From the dashboard (admin) or your trip list (agent), open the trip.
Find the item in the itinerary
Each item has a map-pin icon in the number cell — outline and neutral when pending.
Tap the icon
The icon flips to filled and coloured, the actual time is stamped to the current time in the trip's timezone, and a "Checked in." toast appears.
That's it — no dialog, no save button. The itinerary list refreshes immediately.
Tap the pin the moment the activity starts. If you forget, open the item's actuals form and set the actual time manually — the original capture time is kept untouched.
What if I need to change the time?
Check-in sets the actual time once. To correct it afterwards:
- Expand the itinerary row.
- Open the actuals form.
- Edit the Actual time field and save.
The actual time updates, but the capture time stays as the moment you first tapped the pin. You cannot check in the same item twice.

Check-in is disabled once a trip is locked or completed — the same gate as editing actuals.
